Boys, girls Lightning ready for Grade 9 basketball tournament

Both Hunting Hills Lightning will see action Friday at 3 p.m. in the annual Hunting Hills Grade 9 basketball tournament.

The girls’ edition of the Lightning will face St. Augustine while the boys meet Stettler.

Other opening round games on the girls’ side sees Morinville taking on H.J. Cody of Sylvan Lake at 4:30 p.m., Crowther Memorial meeting Red Deer Lake at 6 p.m. and Ponoka clashing with Lindsay Thurber at 7:30 p.m.

The other games in the boys’ division sees Ponoka clashing with Red Deer Lake at 4:30 p.m., Morinville facing H.J. Cody at 6 p.m. and LTCHS taking on Crowther Memorial at 7:30 p.m.

The semifinals in both divisions go Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. with the finals at 7 p.m.
