Braves fall to Rocky

It was the first loss of the season for the Braves, who fell to 12-1.

Sports World trailed 8-2 after three innings, but Chaz Piche´ sparked a spirited comeback with a three-run homer in the fourth frame.

Trailing 10-7 in the sixth, Alex Heinzlmeier cracked a two-run double in the top of the inning to pull the Braves to within one, and Heinzlmeier came home with the tying run on a double by Jesse Kowalchuk.

Braves starting pitcher Tyler Galloway worked just one and one-third innings. Jayden Hutlet came on to record the second out of the inning before handing the ball to Kowalchuk, who tossed a solid three and one-third frames.

Joe Ireland took over in the sixth and was nailed with the loss. Ireland and Teagan Colonna contributed at the plate, with each stroking an RBI single.

The Braves will seek revenge Sunday at Calgary where they will face the Sun Devils as well as the host Redbirds.
