The Red Deer Servus Credit Union Braves swept a weekend bantam AAA baseball doubleheader from host Spruce Grove, prevailing 10-6 and 3-2.

The Braves battled back from an early three-run deficit in the opening game, getting two hits from each of David Coley and Kyle Ringdahl. Starting pitcher Ty Wagar worked four solid innings, with Michael Ozga providing two innings of relief and Spencer Otto closing out the contest.

Game 2 was a defensive battle and wasn’t settled until the bottom of the seventh inning when Ringdahl led off with a single, stole second base, advanced to third on a bunt by Kane Leblanc and scored on Wagar’s second hit of the game.

The Braves turned a pair of double plays and got sturdy pitching from Otto, Matt Lyons and Ozga.
