Bulldogs roar past Lions

Quade Smith scored two touchdowns to pace the Olds Bulldogs to a 49-0 defeat of the Sylvan Lake Lions in Central Alberta Bantam Football League action Saturday.

Brodie Spreeman, Jesse Lamboo, Tylen Smith, Roger Dye and Bowen Corsiatto each scored a major for the winners, who got a single off a safety.

Elsewhere, Darcy Gusek scored three touchdowns and Braden Rauch contributed two majors as the Rocky Mountain House Junior Rebels dumped Innisfail 55-16.

Adding TDs for the winners were Braydon Moorman and Nolan Guilfoyle. Brenton Lane and Neil Rose each scored a touchdown for Innisfail, while Jayden Halls had four points in converts.

In other games, the Lindsay Thurber Junior Raiders doubled the Notre Dame Junior Cougars 16-8, the Wetaskiwin Warriors blanked the Stettler Cougars 19-0 and Springbank was a 16-14 winner over Strathmore.

l In Central Alberta Peewee League play Saturday, the Olds Huskies wiped out the visiting Wetaskiwin Wildcats 49-12, the host Innisfail Cyclone rolled over the Red Deer Hornets 18-0, the Red Deer Steelers were 36-12 winners over the host Strathmore Spartans, and the Lacombe Explosion ventured into Stettler and punted the Panthers 42-0.
