Bullet removed from shoulder of Mountie injured in standoff shooting

An Edmonton radio station says an Alberta Mountie shot during a standoff has had a bullet removed from his shoulder and will soon be released from hospital.

BRETON — An Edmonton radio station (CHED) says an Alberta Mountie shot during a standoff has had a bullet removed from his shoulder and will soon be released from hospital.

The staff sergeant was part of an emergency response team called to a mobile home last weekend near Breton, southwest of Edmonton, following a report that a man had been shot.

Another officer, a corporal, suffered superficial wounds to his hand and shoulder, and is recovering at home.

A man and woman inside the home were also shot during an exchange of gunfire.

The woman wasn’t seriously injured, but the man remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP are considering charges against him.
