Counsel for a man accused in recent burglaries at two Red Deer businesses is negotiating a deal with the Crown prosecutor.
Christopher Davis, 34, faces charges including break-and-enter, theft, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless use of a firearm, possession of the proceeds of crime and possession of marijuana in relation to break-ins at the south Canadian Tire store of Red Deer on April 1 and the Blarney Stone pub on March 3.
Davis was arrested on April 3 after a plainclothes police officer noticed a suspicious man putting what appeared to be a concealed firearm into a vehicle.
He remains in custody pending his next court date, set for May 2.
