A calendar featuring Brad and Krista Howe and other local victims of drunk driving is now being sold to benefit MADD Canada programs and the new Ronald McDonald House.

The 2012 Nev Foundation Calendar, Remembering the Victims of Alcohol Related Crashes, highlights the parents of five children who were killed by an impaired driver on Feb. 7, 2010, for the month of February.

The month of April features Jeffrey Chanminaraj, 13, who was killed on Canada Day 2010, while June features Matthew Taylor, of Yellowknife, N.W.T., who was killed on Sept. 8, 2010, the same day he was to start Red Deer College.

The calendar was created by Aleta Neville, whose son, Brent Neville, was killed in a drunk driving collision at the age of 21 five years ago.

She started the non-profit Nev Foundation after his death to help preserve his memory and to help other families impacted by similar preventable tragedies.

Aleta said the goal is to provide some “therapeutic benefit” for relatives of deceased loved ones featured in the calendar, and also to fundraise and keep the impact of drunk driving in the public consciousness.

Anyone who wants a calendar for $20 (including taxes and shipping charges) can call Aleta at 403-342-7607 or go online to www.nevfoundation.com.
