CALGARY — A Calgary man accused of killing his two children cried as crime scene photos were introduced into evidence at his trial.

Bing Jun Louie (LOO’-ee) was charged with first-degree murder after the boy and girl were found dead in a house in the city’s northwest on Nov. 27, 2009.

Louie’s defence says it is not contesting the facts of the case, but will argue about the man’s mental state at the time.

The Crown also told court Louie strangled his 13-year-old son with a rope and he asphyxiated his nine-year-old daughter with his hands.

That weekend, the children were supposed to sleep over at their mom’s house — their parents had recently separated.

Ying Louie, the children’s mother, had called 911 during the day because she hadn’t been able to reach them, but police weren’t sent.

When she got to the home, she saw her husband come at her with a rope, and she managed to call 911.

Ying Louie is expected to be called to testify at the trial.
