A Calgary man has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of his common-law wife.

CALGARY — A Calgary man has been charged with attempted murder in the shooting of his common-law wife.

Police say Nihad Abdullah Ibrahim, who is 52, turned himself in.

There had been a Canada-wide warrant out for his arrest.

The 58-year-old woman was shot in the stomach and twice in the leg on the lawn of her northeast Calgary home on Monday.

She’s listed in stable condition in hospital.

Ibrahim also faces aggravated assault, break and enter and several weapons-related charges.
