A Calgary Police Service officer has been charged with luring a child.The charge was laid following a two-month long probe by an Alberta government unit that investigates police.

The charge was laid following a two-month long probe by an Alberta government unit that investigates police.

Clifton Purvis of the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team says four computers were seized from a Calgary home.

Const. Randann Sargent, 26, is charged with one count of using a computer system to communicate with a person believed to be under the age of 18.

Sargent, who has been with the police service for 2 1/2 years, has been released on his own recognizance.

He is to appear in court on July 2.
