For the second time this year, armed robbers have held up the VLT lounge at Red Deer’s Capri Centre.

Red Deer City RCMP said that at about 9:10 p.m. on Monday, two unidentified males brandishing firearms entered the lounge. One suspect emptied the till while the other yelled at patrons.

The suspects fled the lounge on foot to a nearby vehicle, which police say was likely a pickup truck. The truck left the Capri Centre parking lot, heading southbound.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police say the bandits made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The first suspect is described as about 1.7 to 1.73 metres tall (five foot seven to eight inches); 86 to 98 kg (190 to 215 pounds); wearing a bright blue hoodie and a black baseball cap.

The second suspect is described as: 183 cm tall (6’) and wearing a blue hoodie and jeans.

Red Deer City RCMP continue to investigate the robbery with the assistance of the Red Deer forensic identification section.

The Capri Centre VLT lounge was also held up in May by two men brandishing a shotgun. Those suspects concealed their identities with hoods and sunglasses and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the men responsible for this crime is asked to contact Red Deer City RCMP at 403-343-5575.
