Careless smoking was a contributing factor in the trailer park fire that claimed the lives of a common-law couple in Bowden early Sunday morning.

Careless smoking was a contributing factor in the trailer park fire that claimed the lives of a common-law couple in Bowden early Sunday morning.

Kelly Yelenik, 49, and Sheryl Eldridge, 42, were found deceased inside the mobile home.

Cpl. Troy Byrt of the Olds RCMP detachment said the fire was determined to have been accidental. Fire crews responded to the fire in the Bowden Estates Trailer Park around 1:24 a.m. on Sunday.
