Castor’s outdoor swimming pool is getting some upgrades, with the help of the federal government.

The federal government recently announced a $16,500 investment in the Castor Centennial Swimming Pool. Kevin Sorenson, MP for Crowfoot and minister of state for Finance, made the announcement. The funding is a part of the federal government’s community infrastructure improvement fund.

The money will help fund upgrades to the dressing room, lobby floor and stairs leading to the pool. These upgrades will help extend the lifespan of the pool, which opens in May this year.

“Recreation facilities like the centennial swimming pool provide valuable programming to the residents and families of Castor,” said Sorenson in a release. “I am proud to see this community benefit form our government’s support for community infrastructure.”
