Catalina members win nine medals

Bryan Schaerer captured six medals, including two gold for the Red Deer Catalina Swim Club at the 2012 Team Aquatic Supplies Age Group Trials in Edmonton during the weekend.The 10-year-old Schaerer won the boys’ 10-and-under 50m freestyle and butterfly titles to go with a second in the 50m backstroke, 400m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley and third in the 100m freestyle.

The 10-year-old Schaerer won the boys’ 10-and-under 50m freestyle and butterfly titles to go with a second in the 50m backstroke, 400m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley and third in the 100m freestyle.

Meanwhile Kyra Brown, 14, won the girls’ 13-14 year-old 200-metre butterfly.

Overall Catalina Club members captured nine medals and posted 85 per cent personal best times.

Brooklyn Cooper, 12, won silver in the 200m butterfly and Emma Smith, 13, was third in the 800m freestyle.
