Red Deer Catalina Swim Club’s head coach Mandi Smith was a double winner at the Alberta Aquatics Conference during the weekend.
Smith was named the age group coach of the year and received the prestigious Desparado Award, which is a peer recognition award.
All registered Alberta Coaches Council members cast a ballot for the coach they feel did the best overall coaching job in addition to significantly contributing to the provincial program. Coaches may place their vote based on performance, professionalism, innovation and communication.
