Seven Central Albertans are on Team Alberta to compete in the Western Canada Games, Aug. 5-14 in Kamloops.

Three members of the Red Deer Servus Credit Union bantam AAA Braves —Riley Guntrip of Camrose, Joel Mazurkewich of Red Deer and Mitch Vanson of Lacombe — are on the baseball team.

Isatu Fofanah of Ponoka will compete in athletics with Morgan Dool of Lacombe on the girls’ basketball squad and Denesha Doman of Ponoka on the field hockey squad.

Cathy McMillan of Ponoka is a coach with the golf team.

l Guntrip, Mazurkewich and Vanson are also on the zone 4 team which will compete in the Alberta Zone Championships at Great Chief Park in Red Deer, Aug. 12-14.

Brett Barrett, Brendan Baker, Justin Van Tetering, Levi Moon, Nik Fischer and Tyler Galloway of the Braves are also on the zone team.

Don von Hollen is the head coach with Cam Moon of the Braves an assistant.
