Charges laid in electrocutions

EDMONTON — Two years after two men were electrocuted on the job in Edmonton, a dozen charges have been laid under Alberta’s the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

The men died when the equipment they were using touched an overhead power line at the Penn West gas plant site in the Acheson Industrial Park on Jan. 29, 2009, Occupational Health and Safety officials laid charges against two companies — Proflo Production Separators, and TY2K Consulting.

The department also charged Eric Spuehler.

All are scheduled to be in court on March 23 in Stony Plain.
