The Red Deer Chiefs were the peewee B champions in the Innisfail lacrosse tournament during the weekend, beating the Sylvan Lake Buccaneers 8-6 in the gold-medal game.
Jayden Reschny was the Chiefs’ leading scorer during the tournament as the Red Deer squad posted a perfect 4-0 record that included respective earlier wins of 6-3, 3-1 and 10-2 over Fort Saskatchewan, the Calgary Hornets and the Edmonton Blues. Brendan Godwin tended goal in each of the Red Deer games.
