Child dead after being found without pulse in water park

LETHBRIDGE — The last long weekend of the summer ended has ended in tragedy with the death of a child who was discovered unconscious at a southern Alberta water park.

LETHBRIDGE — The last long weekend of the summer ended has ended in tragedy with the death of a child who was discovered unconscious at a southern Alberta water park.

Police in Lethbridge say lifeguards found the child in the water early Monday evening.

The youngster was not breathing and did not have a pulse.

The lifeguards started CPR and paramedics were called before the child was taken to hospital, but all lifesaving attempts were unsuccessful.

The child’s name and age have not been released.

It’s not yet clear if drowning was the cause of death.
