VULCAN — A child has been killed in a collision involving a van and a pickup truck in southern Alberta.
The accident happened on Highway 23 near the community of Vulcan, about 100 kilometres south of Calgary, Tuesday afternoon.
RCMP say the child was a passenger in the van when it entered the highway from a side road and collided with the eastbound truck.
The child died at the scene, but police have not released the young victim’s name.
The highway was closed for about two hours while police investigated the crash.
No charges have been laid.
