A new City of Red Deer annual report highlights last year looks to the future.

A total of 1,000 copies of 35-paged document were designed, copied and printed for $4,993, but the city is encouraging residents to read the material online. The publication is available at www.reddeer.ca.

Mayor Tara Veer said the report is another way for the city to be transparent and accountable to citizens.

Veer said many organizations tell their financial story through an annual report to shareholders.

“We wanted to do that for our community as one more method of communication,” said Veer.

The 2013 report highlights the city’s centennial, the progress on the Queens Business Park development, community initiatives and other events. The report was revealed at council on Monday.

If residents want a paper copy of the publication, they are asked to call 342-8147.
