Classic cars, including vintage T-birds, disappear from Edmonton compound

EDMONTON — Several sweet rides are missing after 10 prized classic vehicles belonging to an Edmonton-area vintage auto collector were stolen from a fenced and locked compound.

The vehicles — valued at more than $100,000 — were taken earlier this week.

Among the missing autos are some Thunderbirds from the 1960s.

Thieves also took a 1958 Edsel, a 1941 Chev half-ton truck and a 1957 Chevrolet Cameo — a sporty pick-up which was the forerunner of the El Camino.

It’s believed that whoever is responsible for the theft has an eye for value because the vehicles were among dozens of vintage autos being stored in the compound.

Police don’t know if the cars hit the road, or are being stored somewhere in the Edmonton area.
