Club of year award for local tennis club

The Red Deer Tennis Club has been awarded the Tennis Alberta’s Club of the Year for 2011.

The Red Deer Tennis Club has been awarded the Tennis Alberta’s Club of the Year for 2011.

The Red Deer Club began on grass courts in 1898 and has grown into one of the top club’s in the province that has both indoor and outdoor facilities.

The indoor tennis dome was the vision of JS Badenhorst and Mark Jones and was completed in 2009.

There are now four indoor courts and eight newly surfaced outdoor courts that host the provincial championships each season.

The club received a trophy with the inscription of “In recognition of your passions and efforts to grow tennis and contribute to the health and vibrancy of your community” on it.
