The driver of a semi-trailer truck is dead after a collision with a train near Edmonton.
The crash happened Sunday afternoon on a secondary road near the community of Villeneuve, a few kilometres northwest of the city.
RCMP say the southbound truck was hit on the passenger side as it was crossing the track.
The driver died in hospital but neither of the two crewmembers aboard the train was injured.
Police say the crossing has a stop sign for southbound traffic.
The driver’s name has not been released.
