Cougars finish with 1-2 record at weekend tournament

The Notre Dame junior girls basketball Cougars posted a 1-2 record in the Camrose tournament during the weekend, recording a 35-30 win over the host team in their final game.

Rachel Wiebe drained 16 points in the Notre Dame victory, while Mataya Dixon turned in a strong defensive effort and was named player of the game.

Earlier, the Cougars fell 19-13 to Leduc and 27-21 to Wetaskiwin. Stacey Chomyn had six points and eight reounds and was player of the game versus Leduc, and Bobbi Bessey took best player honours against Wetaskiwin after scoring seven points.
