Cougars reach championships ranked 14th

Meanwhile on the girls’ side, the Hunting Hills Lightning are ranked 15th and face second-ranked Spruce Grove at 3 p.m. at Raymond Junior High.

Western Canada of Calgary is ranked first.

Wetaskiwin and Camrose will represent the Central Alberta league in both boys’ and girls’ play at the 3A provincials in Camrose.

The Camrose Trojans go into the boys’ division ranked third and receive an opening round bye while Wetaskiwin faces Winston Churchill of Lethbridge.

On the girls’ side, Wetaskiwin is ranked fifth and meet St. Paul while Camrose clashed with Winston Churchill.

The 11th-ranked Rimbey Spartans will meet Strathcona Christian in their opening game in the 2A girls’ playoffs Thursday at Immanuel Christian of Lethbridge.

Central Alberta Christian High School of Lacombe is ranked ninth in the 2A boys’ finals in Cold Lake and meet La Crete in their opening game Thursday at 3:45 p.m. Prairie Christian Academy of Three Hills faces JR Robson at 2 p.m.

Ryley and Daysland represent the zone in both the 1A boys’ and girls’ finals in Hobbema and Lundbreck respectively.
