PENETANGUISHENE, Ont. — Police responding to a call from a concerned citizen in this central Ontario community early Thursday found a woman parked in a lawn chair in the middle of a street.
The woman was using a laptop computer and a man was standing behind her, an Ontario Provincial Police spokesman said.
The woman explained that she was merely testing the range of her new wireless connection.
Officers told the couple to return to their house after advising them of the dangers of being on the road at 1 a.m.
“(It’s) one of the most bizarre calls we’ve had in a while,” said Const. Peter Loan.
“We don’t recommend people do this,” Loan added.
