Daysland collision kills two women

Alberta RCMP say alcohol may have been a factor in a crash near Daysland that killed two people and injured four others.

DAYSLAND — Alberta RCMP say alcohol may have been a factor in a crash near Daysland that killed two people and injured four others.

Police say a GMC van crossed the centre line of Highway 13 early Saturday morning and collided head-on with a Ford Escape.

Shelly Patterson, 47, a woman from the Daysland area died at the scene. Erin Huggan, 29, died of her injuries later on.

Two of the injured were flown by air ambulance to Edmonton hospitals.

The RCMP traffic criminal collision team is investigating.
