Cile deGraaf sniped three goals to lead the Red Deer Vipers to a 5-3 Heritage Junior B Hockey League win over the host Three Hills Thrashers Friday.

Justin Corbett and Colton Weseen also tallied for the Vipers, who led 2-1 after one period and 4-2 after 40 miutes and were one-for-two on the power play. Patrick Fougere, Kelby Stevens and Tom Vanderlinde replied for the Thrashers, who were zero-for-four with a man advantage.

Klay Munro made 38 saves for Red Deer. Three Hills netminder Brady Hoover stopped 24 shots.

In a Sunday contest, Wally Samson potted a pair of goals to pace the Blackfalds Wranglers to a 5-1 win over the visiting Medicine Hat Cubs.

Jesse Fischer, Jaye Sutherland and Andrew McLennan also scored for the winners, who got a 28-save outing from Kyle Baumgardner. Cubs netminder Cole Schafer faced 35 shots.

In other Heritage weekend games:

• The Thrashers dropped a narrow 4-3 decision to the visiting Mountainview Colts Saturday, getting two goals from Michael Stoetzel and one from Cody Kieth in a losing cause.

Jake Carlson made 34 saves in the Colts net. Three Hills got a 29-save performance from Greg Pols.

• The Ponoka Stampeders were 6-1 losers to the Airdrie Thunder at home Saturday, their lone goal coming off the stick of Brendan Scott. Zane Steeves made 29 saves in a losing cause, while Thunder netminder Kade Taplin blocked 27 shots.

• The Stettler Lightning lost a pair one-sided contests — 3-2 at Airdrie Friday and 6-5 to the host Cochrane Generals 24 hours later. Adam Ternes and DJ Kistner had the Lightning goals at Airdrie. Taplin made 30 saves for the winners, while Simon Thieleman stopped 44 shots for the visitors.
