The Innisfail doctor who put up a $10,000 reward for the return of his beloved pooch has not lost faith.
Meyer Schoeman said a few calls came in through the weekend but there were no solid leads on the whereabouts of Leo, his French bulldog that vanished in the Vanier Woods last Wednesday.
The phone number was printed incorrectly on the missing posters that were plastered around his neighbourhood.
So on Sunday, Schoeman and friends took down the old posters and replaced them with new ones with his correct phone number. He spoke to the woman whose number was accidently printed in error on Sunday.
“She was at first a little grumpy and she understood what happened,” said Schoeman, who lives in Red Deer and works in Innisfail.
“I Facebooked, I tweeted and I put up posters. Now we will just wait and see.”
Schoeman said he is not sure whether he will increase the reward.
“If they aren’t going to return him for $10,000, why would they give him back for $12,000?” said Schoeman. “Hopefully I’ll start getting some calls today.”
Leo has been a part of Schoeman’s family for more than a year. He paid $3,000 to a family in British Columbia for Leo. Schoeman said Leo is like a member of his family.
He said no questions will be asked. Schoeman just wants to bring Leo home.
Leo is describe as stocky with light brown fur and a black face. He weights about 13 kg (28 pounds). He wears a black collar with silver bulldogs and answers to “Leo.”
