CALGARY — The Western Hockey League will announce the host city of the 2013 Memorial Cup on Wednesday.

The Red Deer Rebels, Saskatoon Blades and Kelowna Rockets are the finalists to host the annual Canadian Hockey League championship.

The tournament includes the host team and the league champions from the Western, Ontario and Quebec leagues.

The three leagues alternate as Memorial Cup hosts. Shawinigan, Que., is the site of the 2012 Memorial Cup.

The Rockets both hosted and won the tournament in 2004, while the Blades were hosts in 1989.

The Rebels, owned by Calgary Flames head coach Brent Sutter, are bidding to host the event for the first time.
