Downtown street sweeping is slated for this weekend in Red Deer.
The sweepers will be on the road starting at 6 a.m. and will finish at 10:30 p.m. on Sunday. The no parking signs will be posted on Saturday but vehicles will still be allowed to park on that day.
The signs will only be enforced on Sunday where vehicles will be ticketed and towed if they are left on a street that has been signed.
Business owners are encouraged to sweep material from the sidewalk into the gutters on the road prior to Sunday.
Drivers are reminded to take precautions around street sweeping equipment. Motorists should leave at least three car lengths between their vehicle and a street sweeper. Keeping a safe distance can also prevent damage to vehicles from debris that might come from the street sweeper during the cleaning process.
