Dreeshen wants ideas for jobs

Red Deer Conservative MP Earl Dreeshen is looking for constituents’ input into how to create jobs and grow the economy in the next budget, while keeping taxes low.

He is seeking comments in advance of his government’s upcoming federal budget.

Dreeshen said that Canada’s Economic Action Plan has been a big boost to the economy already, creating nearly 600,000 net new jobs in recent years.

“However, the global economy remains challenging — especially in the United States and Europe,” said Dreeshen.

“That’s why we need to stay squarely focused on jobs and economic growth.”

People are also being asked how Ottawa can return to balanced budgets in the medium term. The date of the budget hasn’t been set yet.

Area residents can submit their comments through email at earl.dreeshen.c1@parl.gc.ca or by mail at 4315 55th Ave. Red Deer, T4N 4N7.

Comments will be sent onto Finance Minister Jim Flaherty.

The federal government also has online budget consultations through www.fin.gc.ca.
