A youth examining damage to his vehicle from a car crash on Hwy 2 was struck by another vehicle and hospitalized with injuries.
The multiple collisions happened a few kilometres north of the Lacombe turn-off on Friday afternoon.
According to Ponoka RCMP, an SUV had rear-ended a small cube van at about 3:30 p.m., during poor driving conditions and snow fall.
Occupants of the SUV had exited the vehicle and were standing at the side of the highway, looking at the damage, when a passing pickup truck lost control and hit one of the youths before entering the ditch.
The injured youth was rushed to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are reminding motorists that the safest place to be following such a collision is in your vehicle until emergency personnel arrives.
