OLDS — Braden Gamble was the man for the Drumheller Dragons Monday evening.

The 20-year-old goaltender not only turned in a sparkling 57-save performance, but assisted on the winning goal as the Dragons slipped past the Olds Grizzlys 2-1 in an AJHL game viewed by 618 fans at the Sports Complex.

Gamble held the Dragons in the game with 23 saves in the third period and assisted on Sam Lawson’s winner with just over five minutes remaining. The clubs exchanged first-period goals, with Lucas Grundy staking the Grizzlys to a lead 5:51 into the contest and Doug Jones replying for the visitors 11 minutes later.

Jesse Ehnisz stopped 22 shots in the Olds net.

The Grizzlys are idle until Friday when they travel to Canmore to face the Eagles.
