Lucinda Sheardown plants a wild rose as Cindy Walter readies a hole for another in the Gaetz Lakes Sanctuary as part of the Earthdance tree planting and peace walk Saturday. Volunteers also planted buffalo berry, birch, dogwood and white spruce. The event was a prelude to next Saturday’s Earthdance, a global festival marked locally with a day of free activities in City Hall Park that starts at 1 p.m. The event features a drum circle at 4:15 p.m. and reaches its peak at 5 p.m. when participants will join in a global non-denominational prayer for peace.
