EDMONTON — An Edmonton doctor has withdrawn from his practice after being disciplined for having sexual relations with four patients.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta says Dr. Paul Lubitz demonstrated unbecoming conduct.

The college says Lubitz voluntarily stepped aside and is receiving treatment.

He is suspended for at least a year, and will not be allowed to return to work until he has met a number of conditions imposed by the college.

They include completion of his rehabilitation and regular reports to the college on his progress.

The college says the doctor had intimate relationships with four patients between June 2006 and January 2008.
