VERO BEACH, Fla. — A Christmas Day swim in Florida turned deadly for an Edmonton man.
Police say 26-year-old Surendra Sri Thakur and a second man were caught in a riptide at Avalon Beach just south of Vero Beach.
A surfer was reportedly able to help rescue the second man , but could not locate Thakur.
His body was found Monday morning, not far from where he went missing.
Thakur was apparently visiting family in the area.
