EDMONTON — An autopsy has determined that the wife of an Edmonton Mountie died of multiple gunshot wounds.

EDMONTON — An autopsy has determined that the wife of an Edmonton Mountie died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Edmonton police found the woman’s body Saturday in her home.

Her husband, RCMP Const. Tirth Sehmbi, 36, has been charged with second-degree murder.

Edmonton media have identified the woman as Rajpinder Sehmbi, 29.

Constable Sehmbi has been suspended with pay and is being held in custody pending his next court appearance on Aug. 12.

Sehmbi, an eight-year veteran of the RCMP, had been working in the traffic services division in Stony Plain, and also worked as a dog handler.
