Edmonton Oilers sign defenceman Theo Peckham to one-year extension

Theo Peckham has agreed to a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

EDMONTON — Theo Peckham has agreed to a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers on Monday.

The 23-year-old defenceman was a restricted free agent.

Peckham appeared in 71 games for Edmonton last season, scoring 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) while amassing 198 penalty minutes.

He earned US$550,000 last season.

Peckham has appeared in 102 career games with the Oilers since being selected in the third round of the 2006 draft.

In another move Monday, the Oilers signed goalie Yann Danis to a one-year deal. He spent last season with Amur Khabarovsk in the KHL.

In 45 career games with the Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils, the 30-year-old Danis has a 16-20-3 record, 2.72 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.
