EDMONTON — Charges have been laid after police in Edmonton had to deal with their fourth case in a week involving children left alone in a vehicle.
Officers were called Monday afternoon to a south-end supermarket where two children, age nine and two, had allegedly be left while their mother went shopping.
Police say the youngsters were in the vehicle for about half an hour with the engine running.
The outside temperature at the time was about 27 C.
The two were assessed and their mother was charged under the Child Youth Family Enhancement Act for wilfully causing a child to be in need of intervention.
