EDMONTON — An Edmonton realtor has opted to go directly to trial after he was charged with attacking three women who work as prostitutes.

Oldin Yadir Maldonado was scheduled to have a preliminary hearing this week on several charges, including sexual assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement, robbery and uttering threats.

Court officials say he has instead waived his right to the hearing and will now go to trial on the charges.

No trial date has been set.

Police say they began investigating after receiving information that three women had been sexually assaulted earlier this spring.
