EDMONTON — A 22-year-old Edmonton woman was abducted and forced into a car with Nova Scotia plates Sunday.

EDMONTON — A 22-year-old Edmonton woman was abducted and forced into a car with Nova Scotia plates Sunday.

Investigators say a couple was in their apartment when a man in his 40s knocked on the door.

Police say the man is a former acquaintance of the young woman.

The woman’s boyfriend was beaten and suffered minor injuries.

The attacker then forced the woman out of the building and into a waiting vehicle.

Police spokesman Jeff Wuite say they have no record of any past violence between the woman and the man who abducted her.

“I think what we’re looking at is a targeted attack,” said Wuite.
