Eight Red Deer riders finish first at BMX Grand Final

Eight Red Deer BMX Club riders finished first in the Alberta BMX Series following the Grand Final races Saturday.Ryland Goulding, Royce Redbear, Ty Redbear, Taye Neish and Cody Pratt, in the cruiser class, all finished first in the Series and struck gold at the Grand Final. Annika Ricalton, who had no ranking in the Alberta Series, also won gold Saturday.

MEDICINE HAT — Eight Red Deer BMX Club riders finished first in the Alberta BMX Series following the Grand Final races Saturday.

Ryland Goulding, Royce Redbear, Ty Redbear, Taye Neish and Cody Pratt, in the cruiser class, all finished first in the Series and struck gold at the Grand Final. Annika Ricalton, who had no ranking in the Alberta Series, also won gold Saturday.

Ryan Raymont, who won silver Saturday, Lindsay Hall, who was fourth, and Molly Simpson, who placed seventh, were also champions in the Alberta Series, which consisted of six races.

Cody Pratt (second in the Series), Montanna Beattie (third) and Eden Price ((no ranking) struck silver Saturday.

Olivia Rush (NR), Devon Murfitt (third), Eric Hunter (third), Ryson Wakaluk (third), Nicolas Hammer (third), Coleman Komula (third) and Peter Snape (third in cruiser) all won bronze.

James Sekora, who was fourth Saturday, placed third in the Series.

Jordan Boone and Owen Green finished fourth in the Series while Austin McLeod, Zachary Repp, Shayne Hall, Austin Trohan and Cole Malcolm were fifth.

The club will compete in the Alberta provincial bicycle championships this weekend.
