Eighteen-year-old arrested after teen stabbed to death Sunday

One teen is dead and another is in custody after a stabbing death in a townhouse Sunday in Sherwood Park.

EDMONTON — One teen is dead and another is in custody after a stabbing death in a townhouse Sunday in Sherwood Park.

RCMP said the 18-year-old male victim was killed about 3 a.m.

He was suffering from severe stab wounds when police arrived.

He was treated on scene by paramedics then rushed to an Edmonton hospital where he was pronounced dead.Const. Wally Henry with the Strathcona County RCMP said after that, police dogs and witnesses played a major role in tracking down a suspect who had fled on foot was quickly caught near a mall parking lot.

Several neighbours say they were woken by noise coming from the home.

“I hope it’s an isolated incident,” said one woman, adding that in the decade she’s lived in the area there’s never been any trouble. The two men knew each other, but police were interviewing witnesses to find out the extent of their relation
