The Red Deer Elks split a pair of midget AA weekend hockey games, defeating the Medicine Hat Venom 5-1 and falling 5-2 to the Foothills Bisons.
Kwyn Hiebert, Conner Einhorn, Ian Mclellan, Nicholas Keoghan and Garret Engert scored against the Venom, while goaltender Logan Muir faced 24 shots.
Einhorn and Engert connected in the loss to the Bisons, who directed 27 shots at Muir.
