CONKLIN — There has been a blowout at an oilsands project northeast of Edmonton.

The Energy Resources Conservation Board says Devon Canada Corporation’s Jackfish project blew out near Conklin Saturday, sending steam and oil into the air.

On Sunday the company managed to halt the flow of steam and oil.

The board says no one was injured and Devon has started clean-up operations.

An official says the board is investigating what caused the blowout and what it has done to the environment.
