This is a warning that dangerous winter weather conditions are imminent or occurring in these regions. Residents are urged to monitor weather conditions.

An intense weather system over Southern Alberta will slowly move eastward into Saskatchewan today. Ahead of the low rain fell in many communities Wednesday with wet snow occurring along the foothills especially from Red Deer - Rocky Mountain House southward.

As the low moves east today the winds will strengthen to north to northwest 50 gusting to 80 km/h and the precipitation will spread slowly eastwards.

Total snowfall amounts will generally be in the range of 10 to 20 cms for the storm but elevation effects will enhance amounts to 30 to 40 cms along portions of the southern foothills and through the Lethbridge..Cardston and Pincher Creek regions especially over higher terrain.

In the Hanna Coronation and Medicine Hat regions northerly winds of 60 gusting to 90 km/h are expected to develop later this morning. Winds will gradually diminish this evening.
