An energy multinational is facing charges over water use at an oilsands mine in northern Alberta.
StatOil has been charged with several counts under provincial legislation for allegedly improperly diverting water for use in its mine near Conklin.
The Norwegian company is also charged with providing false or misleading statements about those withdrawals, which happened between 2008 and 2010.
