A Bowden Institution inmate’s brief flirtation with freedom has earned him a few extra weeks behind bars.
Maurice Rondeau, 64, is serving time for sexual offences.
He was reported missing during the 4:30 p.m. count on Sunday.
He was recaptured at about 9:30 p.m. and charged with being unlawfully at large.
Rondeau pleaded guilty to the charge in Red Deer provincial court on Tuesday.
Judge Jim Hunter sentenced him to 60 days, to be served consecutively to his original prison term.
